The technical storage or access that is used exclusively for statistical villa bar restaurant purposes. There was a stock of wine bottles, so my thought was to find a warehouse and store them. Yiannis, the owner, is always there to help you choose the right bottle your money can afford. We tried a red wine from Greece, all dishes we tried were very tasty and friendly prices. However, the food menu could benefit from additional options beyond Italian cuisine to enhance its appeal. The staff is exceptionally courteous, and the extensive wine list offers a wide range of choices.
His main focus is wines from Italy, Spain, France and Greece which can be paired with a short but tasty list of dishes. Located in the historic centre of Thisio, it is the perfect place to stop off after a day's sightseeing or a stroll to enjoy some of the more than 150 wines in its cellar, paired with well-crafted dishes. Elegant, modern and cosy, as its name suggests (caravan + vin), »Caravin« is a journey to destinations where the bottle of wine becomes the reason to discover them.
Sommelier Yannis Kaymenakis' devotion to wine is housed in a former Piraeus tobacco warehouse in Retsina, a neighbourhood in the Piraeus district. Co-owner and talented sommelier Aris Sklavenitis, along with an experienced team, will guide you on your wine journey, as well as recommending fine food and wine pairings. If you could only drink one wine for the rest of your life, what would it be? I might randomly drink a syrah from the Rhone, or maybe a pinot noir from Burgundy. I don’t drink Greek merlot or cabernet sauvignon.

In terms of wine, the space’s compass shows a direction toward metropolitan France, Spain, Italy, a little bit of Portugal, and Greece. Nestled in one of the oldest warehouses of Peiraus, Paléo is a wine bar-resto designed in a vintage industrial aura. I’m really into creating a nice narrative for my store, but I do understand someone who just wants to drink a glass of wine without overthinking. 10.000 bottles of wine are stored here at the moment. I placed the bottles on the shelves to cover the cement walls, and each one of them has its own story. When I entered the space for the first time, it reminded me of a catholic church.
